The 部门 of Mathematical and Physical Sciences (MAPS) is the largest division on campus, consisting of the departments of Chemistry, 数学, Physics and Computer Science, and the Dual Degree Engineering Program. It offers many programs of study, research opportunities, professional training and service-learning activities, and provides a pathway for students towards successful scientific and health-profession careers (in medicine, 药店, 数学, computer science, 物理, 生物化学, 和化学). With over 50 faculty members and 700 students, MAPS students can always count on faculty and peer mentoring and support. All departments in the 部门 are located in close proximity in the Norman C. Francis Science Building, providing the faculty, 工作人员, and students many opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations and interactions.

Xavier University of Louisiana has appointed Ronald M. 对于小. as Associate Vice President of Government and Community Relations. In this newly created role, Mr. Carrere will coordinate government affairs, community outreach, strategic partnerships, and the Hope Revitalization Corporation, with delegated authority from the president. Xavier University is on the cusp of celebrating its first 100 years of service, and Carrere’s role is integral to its strategy of expanding its legacy of excellence and building on its foundation of community and social justice as it pursues its mission to promote a more just and humane society.

Xavier University of Louisiana, known for its academic excellence and charming small-town atmosphere within the vibrant city of New Orleans, is making significant strides in campus safety and convenience. The campus is highly walkable for students, with dorm rooms and classes situated within a compact, less-than-a-mile radius; however, traffic and parking issues persist. As the university moves into its centennial year, Xavier is standing on one of its core priorities of “Matching our 校园 to our Potential” by tackling these issues head-on with new parking solutions.
Community Engagement
The daughter of a Xavier Alumnus is making waves in the world of swimming. Simone Manuel is continuing the legacy of athletic excellence that began with her father, Marc Manuel ('88), who played basketball at Xavier from 1984-1988.
