文理学院开设了一门新的学术课程, 健康信息学理学硕士学位. The program is offered online and is both a thesis and a non-thesis option. The Master’s program requires students to complete 36 credit hours that includes either a capstone or a research project.

The development of the Master of Science in 健康 Informatics began as a result of the work of the Ochsner Xavier Institute for 卫生公平 and 研究 (OXIHER). oxher旨在改善整个社区的健康状况, 减少卫生不公平现象, 发展创新的医疗服务模式, 树立公平和尊重的榜样. The development of this program supports one of the guiding principles of OXIHER: 健康 Careers and Equity Education. This principle seeks to increase the number of healthcare workers who will lead and innovate in health equity. This program will increase the number of professionals who have an understanding of how to 使用 and analyze health data with the ultimate purpose to improve patient care.

LBHI serves as the primary hub for many public health-wide data and informatics efforts which includes: coordinating legislative mandates for reporting; managing meaningful 使用 for public health, 提供数据和可视化服务, and managing the Electronic 健康 Records system for the parish health clinics and other office-wide and external efforts and partnerships.
